Mediastream platform now offers support for multiple languages, providing the option to configure and share content in users' preferred language, giving them the convenience to consume live and VOD material in different languages.
The component is based on the standard i18n*
process that adapts the platform software to a specific region by adding locale**
components and text translation.
*i18n:
abbreviation for 'internationalization' using numeronyms, because there are 18 letters between the initial 'i' and the final 'n'.
**Locale: Term used in computer science to define the set of parameters that defines a language, country, metadata, etc., that a user wishes to view in their UI (User Interface).
How does it work?
1 - Activation
The feature is activated prior to a commercial agreement and will be available within the Settings > I18n module..
The displayed interface is as follows:
To configure a specific language, simply search for it in the list and click the Add button.
The selected language will appear in the lower list of the interface; you can assign as many languages as desired, taking into account the internationalization requirements of the associated content.
Once the language list is configured, the changes are saved by clicking on Save changes. Languages can be deleted at any time by pressing the trash can icon located in the Actions section (please note that by doing so, the language's i18n support will no longer be available on the platform).
2 - Uses
I18n, after its initial configuration, is related to all metadata relating to platform text. An associated window will be displayed, distinguished by a globe icon followed by the I18n identifier. Editing the texts is an entirely manual process.
The modules in which it is activated are:

In the Custom attributtes of text type and will be displayed in the respective module.

2.6 - Next OTT Manager
In this module, and if the service is available, it has the function of offering the OTT in different languages according to the region of residence of the consuming user, the configuration is done by assigning the corresponding languages and making the appropriate editions in the components associated to the OTT. From the user's point of view, he/she can select the language of his/her preference. In this module keep in mind that all text components in OTT manager must be completed in the respective language, otherwise the changes will not be saved.
2.7 - Settings>Products

2.8 - Custom Attributes
For the multi-language to work with this feature, it is mandatory that the custom attributes created are assigned to the type Tag, Text and/or Text Area, these will be activated in the content or module in which they will be used.
Once the custom has been configured, by going to the associated content, in the Custom Attributes section, the I18n's tab will be available to make the adjustments.
When accessing, only the aforementioned text attributes will be shown editable.
